Case Worker - Part Time Grant-Funded Position

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Case Worker will provide a
variety of support services for clients who are in emergency situations, including shelter, housing,
food, health/mental and other critical family service needs. The purpose of the program is to
assist families to stabilize immediate situations, seek long term solutions and make appropriate
referrals. Tasks will include face to face comprehensive service and financial assessments,
information and referral services, advocacy and other support services along with accurate and
legible documentation and data entry.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Receive clients,Interview and conduct initial assessments;
- Handle phones;
- Refer families to community resources using specific agency guidelines;
- Document and maintain complete and accurate records of all actions in database;
- Adhere to agency, program and grant requirements, policies, laws and guidelines;
- Build and maintain positive relationships with program agencies/collaborators, and community -at-large;
- In conjunction with Program Manager, assist with keeping all staff aware of community resources and opportunities that and benefits families toward self sufficiency;
- Employ team efforts to foster collaborative efforts within the program, unit, and related or interfacing agency collaborations/partners/other services;
- Data entry;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor;
Minimium Qualifications:
- Education and Training Equivalent to: High School Diploma or equivalent/FDC Certificate/ Credential preferred.
- 1 year experience working with families providing case management or related outreach, advocacy or social services;
- English proficiency; Bilingual (Spanish/Tongan) preferred;
- Commit to support overall agency mission and vision;
- Ability to exercise good judgment, tact and diplomacy when interacting with clients, guests and co-workers;
- Working knowledge of East Palo Alto and local resources in San Mateo County and/or South County;
- Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality track record;
Compensation: Depends on experience

Climate Ready Ambassador Program
About the opportunity:
El Concilio of San Mateo (ECSMC) is seeking to contract community Ambassadors who will work to support our Climate Change initiatives and outreach opportunities. Adapting the promotor model, Ambassadors are leaders and advocates from their communities who are bi-lingual, bi-cultural and understand the needs of their neighbors.
The Climate Ready Ambassadors will help educate their community about climate change, share resources and opportunities that ECSMC and other partners offer and connect people to events and programs that promote Environmental Justice.
Ambassadors will receive training and build a cohort of community leaders and climate change champions in North Fair Oaks.
Tasks and Expectations include:
- Attending 1 month Climate Ready NFO Meetings with partners
- Participating in 2 County-wide Educational Conferences
- Attend trainings and Ambassador meetings
- Support in other ECSMC Climate Change Initiatives and Projects as needed
Compensantion: Between $18-20/Hr. (10-30hrs a Month)
